Building on Milestones: Preparing for Energy Asia 2025

Energy Asia 2023 provided a milestone in Asia’s joint energy journey. Taking place in the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 26 to 28 June 2023, this landmark energy conference brought together leaders from across the region and beyond.

Asia is the beating heart of global energy transformation. The Asia Pacific region is home to ~60% of the world’s population, and accounts for almost half of primary energy consumption.

As we gear up for the 2025 sequel, we reflect on the past achievements that set the stage for future advancements.

A Look Back at Energy Asia 2023

Energy Asia 2023 was not just an event—it was a milestone. The conference brought together over 4,600 participants, including more than 150 speakers from 54 countries, all united by a shared mission to push forward the region’s energy ambitions.

With 46 corporate sponsors and 37 exhibitors, the event provided fertile ground for innovation, collaboration and engagement, ultimately attracting over 10,000 visitors to the exhibition and securing extensive coverage with 212 media representatives on-site.

Driving Asia’s energy transition in 2025

The important milestone of the 2023 conference has laid a robust foundation for Energy Asia 2025: Delivering Asia’s Energy Transition. The discussions and outcomes from 2023 have been instrumental in shaping the agenda for the region’s energy journey.

As we look to 16-18 June 2025, Energy Asia is poised to inspire and inform a new future for Asia’s energy paradigm, bringing together international speakers and global delegates to help drive Asia’s energy transition.

The focus of Energy Asia 2025 will be to foster actionable solutions across the seven key themes identified for the conference of (1) Economics, Policy and Geopolitics (2) Future of Energy Markets and Company Strategies (3) Power Markets in Transition (4) Technology, Innovation and Circularity (5) Capital Markets (6) Climate and Sustainability and (7) Talent and Capabilities.

Asia accounts for more than half (53%) of the improvement needed to reach the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) 2050 Sustainable Development. This will require a fundamental shift in how we live, work, and consume to deliver an Asian green energy transition that will ensure a fair and sustainable future.

Addressing this matters for the region’s future. Based on a severe increase of global temperatures of 3.2°C, Asia is projected to see a 26% drop in GDP, just below the 27% fall expected in the most-impacted regions of the Middle East and Africa. Southeast Asia fares even worse with an expected hit of 37% to GDP.
